  • Valetta Anderson Day - September 9, 2006 held in Mound Bayou, MS by proclamation of Mayor Kennedy V. Johnson, the Board of Aldermen and the Mound Bayou Public Schools Alumni Association. (Mound Bayou’s founders were the subject of “She’ll Find Her Way Home.”)
  • 2006 - Essential Theatre Playwriting Award, World premiere of “Leaving Limbo” at 7 Stages Theatre in Atlanta, GA.
  • 2002 - Hermann Kesten Stipend Recipient with three week residency in Nürnberg, Germany.
  • 1994 - Regional Designation Award of the Cultural Olympiad of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games.
  • 1992 - Rockefeller Foundation New Play Development Grant and Georgia Council for the Arts, Artist Initiated Grant.
  • 1991- AT&T : Onstage, sponsorship award.
